Play him in mid. Better results as he’s a B tier ADC at best, but A tier maybe even S tier for mid. Level 1 trade advantage. His passive is so strong that you should attempt short trades with the enemy laner. Lucian is a great lane bully, take advantage of your priority and keep your opposition away from the minions.

Lucian's weakest matchups are Caitlyn (naturally) and Senna (as separate examples, god forbid you lane against them both) in my personal experience, although either can be solved with a good in-support.
